Tashas... and the cutest thing in the world

There are very few things in life that I could say make me smile EVERY time.

Even the wonder that was Orange Chicken from Panda Express and the summer of addiction that followed finally came to an end. But, in this world of fleeting happiness, there is one thing that gets me every time.

My niece has GOT to be the cutest thing alive. I can't wait until I've got kids of my own. She's so dang cute. It's been so much fun to watch her grow up over the last 7 months.

Went to the zoo today for Thanksgiving for the second year in a row. So many good memories at that place spending the summer days there with mom standing watching the tigers. That was always our first (and sometimes only) stop. Apparently I called them "tashas." Well, today the baby tashas were really active, pouncing on each other and running around. It was lots of fun to watch. Most of the animals we say were active today. I don't know if it was the rain or what, but it was a solid day at the zoo.

Hope you all (if anyone reads this) had a great Thanksgiving!

Hugs Are Awesome

As I was walking around during PLNU Homecoming weekend, two girls were walking around collecting money for something, I didn't really know what, but I stopped and gave them $1.  It was supposed to be for a balloon, but I asked if I could just give them $1 and not take a balloon. Cuz I knew I just would have let go sometime, and that's the saddest feeling ever, watching your balloon float off into the sky. Didn't want that. So when I asked, the cuter girl said "do you want a hug?" I like the way she thinks.  It wasn't one of those lame side hugs either, it was a good, couple second long, two armed full embrace. The kinda thing that can just brighten up your day. And it did.

But I guess for every good and happy thing in life, there's a sad one too. I started coaching my high school team again this week, and on friday we had our first meeting to make cuts. I grew up playing video games and I always did fantasy drafts and made up my own teams. I was ruthless. I would cut and trade people like no other. The thing was, those guys didn't have feelings. These kids whose names I'm putting on the cut list all have feelings and all want to be a part of this team or else they wouldn't have come out and worked as hard as they did for a week. It's been really hard for me to see the faces of these kids in my head. I'd almost rather just keep  a ridiculous amount of kids.

First Time

Well, I guess it's official. I'm a blogger. Don't really know what I'm doing. I just thought it would be fun to have a place to post my random ramblings and thoughts about stuff that happens to me. So here it is...
